Buying

Are the watches genuine, and how do I know?+

Every piece is opened on our bench: movement matched to the reference, serial and engravings measured, dial print inspected at 40×, timing logged over 24 hours. The timing certificate ships with the watch, and photographs of your specific piece — including case-back and serial — are sent before purchase on request.

Why are there renderings instead of photographs?+

The renderings you see are generated from each reference’s specification so the catalogue is consistent and loads instantly. Photographs of the individual watch are always available on request and are attached to every invoice.

Can I see more of the watch before I buy?+

We do not keep a showroom — every piece is sold at a distance and shipped insured. What we can do is show you more of it: photographs of the individual watch rather than the catalogue rendering, a video of the movement running, the timing sheet from its twenty-four hour test, and the papers. Ask through the contact page and it comes back the same or the next working day.

What does “price on request” mean?+

Some references — mostly discontinued Patek and AP — are offered privately because the market moves faster than a published price. Send an enquiry and you will get the current number, in writing, the same day.

Paying & receiving

How do I pay?+

SEPA bank transfer (preferred, no fee) or credit card up to €25,000. Nothing is charged on the website itself — we issue a pro-forma invoice after confirming availability.

Will I pay customs or VAT on delivery?+

No. Within the EU nothing further is due, and shipments into the Balkans go DDP with duty and local VAT settled by us at dispatch. The courier will never ask you for money at the door.

How long does delivery take?+

Two to four working days across Europe with insured DHL Express, included in the price. Same-day dispatch for orders settled before 15:00 CET.

After the sale

Is the watch under warranty?+

That depends on the piece, and on the maison rather than on us. Rolex covers five years from its own first sale, so a watch sold new in 2022 or later usually still has factory cover; most other houses give two years, which a pre-owned piece has often outlived. We tell you the exact expiry on any reference before you buy, and the card and papers travel with the watch. What DARIÉ guarantees, in writing and for as long as you own it, is that the piece is genuine and as described.

Can the watch be insured?+

Yes, and we can arrange the introduction when you buy. Our partners cover theft, loss and accidental damage at a valuation based on what you paid, and the policy runs directly between you and the insurer — we supply whatever documentation they ask for, including our own authentication record.

Do you service watches you did not sell?+

Yes. Send the reference and the symptom; you get a written estimate before anything is opened. A full service on a modern automatic averages nine days.

Will you buy the watch back later?+

Almost always, and we will quote you the same way we quote anyone — against current auction and dealer trade data. Trade-in against another piece from the case adds 4% to the offer.

Still deciding?

Send us the reference you are considering and we will tell you honestly whether it is the right buy — including when the answer is no.
