What this index is, and what it is not
The Market Watch Index is a market benchmark and reference only. It shows the general direction of the secondary watch market as a whole. It is not a valuation, and it should not be read as the market price or resale price of any specific watch — including any piece listed on this site.
What an individual watch is actually worth varies enormously with its reference, condition, year of production, whether it has its box and papers, provenance, service history, rarity, current demand, where in the world it is being sold, and the reputation and terms of the dealer selling it. Two watches of the same reference can trade far apart. A rising index does not mean a particular watch has risen, and a falling one does not mean it has fallen.
Nothing on this page is investment advice or an offer. For what a specific piece is worth to us, ask for a written valuation.
Source and independence. Index data is published by TheWatchInfo and is retrieved automatically. It is calculated by them from market-wide data. Our own asking prices play no part in it and cannot influence it in any way. We reproduce the figures as published and do not adjust them.
